Tai Chi Grandmaster Chen ZhengleiTai Chi - also called t'ai chi chuan, taiji and taijiquan - is considered an internal martial art. An ancient discipline with its roots in China, today Tai Chi is usually practiced for health reasons.

Tai Chi is a slow, gentle form of exercise with many proven health benefits, including improved strength, flexibility and balance. Research also suggests that Tai Chi can improve digestion, metabolism and circulation. The relaxing movements help to calm the mind and body, resulting in a reduction of stress from everyday life.

This ancient form of self-defense can be practiced by people of any age in any physical condition. Because the movements are slow and gentle, even people who are not accustomed to physical exercise can practice Tai Chi without causing undo stress to the body.

At the Martial Arts Academy, we practice Chen style Tai Chi as promoted by Grandmaster Chen Zhenglei, pictured above.

Nikki Mandel, the Academy's Director, has studied Tai Chi extensively under several Masters and Grandmasters, and teaches most of our Tai Chi classes.

Some evening classes are taught by visiting instructor Sifu George Samuels, a highly accomplished Chen Tai Chi and Qigong Master.
Tai Chi students can attend daytime and/or evening classes at our Lake Worth dojo (see Map).

Daytime classes are held Tu-Th from 10:00-11:00 AM.

Evening classes are held M-Tu-W-Th from 6:00-7:00 PM.
